[edit] ReachPlus Alerts Server (Premium)

ReachPlus Alerts Server (Advanced) now uses Windows Installer (MSI) for the installation package. Older versions of the installer used InstallShield for the installation package. Upgrading ReachPlus Alerts Server (Advanced) to ReachPlus Alerts Server (Premium) requires that the existing product should be uninstalled.

[edit] Changes from ReachPlus Alerts (Advanced)

  • Quick Alerts are now stored at the server and are available to all the consoles.
  • Scheduled alerts are now stored at the server and sent by the server.
  • Active Directory groups can be assigned ReachPlus Alerts access rights.
  • Sent alerts history is now stored at the server and available to all the consoles.
  • Alerts can be sent to groups containing Active Directory objects or IP Ranges.

If you want to upgrade your existing installation of ReachPlus Alerts (Advanced) to ReachPlus Alerts (Premium) please follow the following steps:

  • Backup the folders (AlertSData, AlertsLog, License, and RPSData) in the ReachPlus Alerts install folder which is typically "C:\Program Files\tekAlign\ReachPlus Alerts Server".
  • Uninstall the existing ReachPlus Alerts Server (Advanced)
  • Install the latest version of the ReachPlus Alerts Server (Premium) available on the website to the same folder where it was previously installed (setup would automatically select the last installation folder by default).

[edit] Notes

  • After the installation is complete ReachPlus Alerts (Premium) will import any existing IP range groups automatically.
  • If required existing Quick Alerts and Schedules can be imported using "Tools->Import old data" on the console.
  • ReachPlus Alerts (Premium) will not import any existing Internal Security users or groups and they would need to created again if the existing installation is using "Internal Security" mode.
  • ReachPlus Alerts (Premium) will not import any existing sent alerts (History).

[edit] ReachPlus Alerts Client (Premium)

  • The installer would automatically upgrade any existing ReachPlus Alerts (Advanced) 4.1 clients.
  • Upgrading version 4.0 clients to version 4.1 or later requires that the existing clients be uninstalled first before the roll-out.
